Некоторые считают, что там про смерть, но, серьезно? Только из-за похоронных образов? Да там же явно хоронят рассудок, а падают с лестницы душевного здоровья, пересчитав собой все ступеньки.

Некоторые слова изменены по сравнению с оригиналом Эмили Дикинсон.

Мне, к сожалению, не попадалось ни одного адекватного перевода на русский этого стихотворения. Вот тут сохранен ритм и отличная пара колокол/ухо, но финал перевран, вот тут сохранено оригинальное ощущение падения в финале и получше передано "finished knowing -- then", но все остальное не очень, и так далее.

Я даже не заметил мою любимую игру в моем любимом сериале. Чем я вообще смотрю.

Тоже люблю Рокуэлла еще с Lawn Dogs, он реально актер круче Брэда Питта и Кейси Аффлека вместе взятых. Правда, в роли Боба Форда я его не вижу хоть убей (по ссылке пишут, что он очень хотел себе эту роль).

But sometimes, what Rockwell does, can hardly be put into words. It's a small thing here and there. A look, a gesture, something that makes his characters feel distinctive and human. It works particularly well when he is playing vulnerable characters in serious movies. You just instantly feel and care for whoever he is playing. You don't want to see him get hurt.

And no part Rockwell played illustrated that better than his Charley Ford. I recently rewatched The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford for the first time in years. I only saw it once before and I instantly knew three things - 1. this is a masterpiece 2. I wish the 4h long cut of the film that was screened in Venice was available for all of us to see 3. this is Sam Rockwell's greatest performance.
