Mishima’s supposed longtime lover Jiro Fukushima published his book Yukio Mishima: Sword and Winter Red in 1998, in which he included letters between the two men and detailed accounts of their sexual experiences. Noriko Tomita and Iichiro Hiraoka, Mishima’s daughter and son respectively, who inherited the rights to their father’s estate, sued for copyright infringement and libel.
